| Well I guess I lied about updating more frequently; I feel justified though because no one updates anymore. I think Xanga has officially gone the way of the cassette tape, the drive-in theatre, and the Macarena. I was going to type up some sappy end-of-the-year trip down Memory Lane, but then I remembered that I'm really lazy and don't want to. I will say that 2007 was a rather good year, almost as good as '06, except the Cardinals sucked (big big buzzkill). The year freaking flew by though, it went so quickly it's almost scary. Anyways, best wishes to everybody in 2008, and thanks to those of you who still read this! | | |
| Thankgiving Break has pretty much been a winner so far. I've sleep quite a bit, played a lot of video games, and done just enough homework to feel like I've accomplished something (but not enough to have actually accomplished something). Thanksgiving was pretty great; I ate a nice big lunch as well as a few leftover turkey sammiches. Plus I lounged around and watched football. Eat, sleep, football...if you don't think Thanksgiving is the Ultimate Man Holiday, you are wrong. Some people say the holiday was created by the Pilgrims to thank God, others say the Pilgrims wanted to thank the helpful Native Americans they befriended. I would like to propose the theory that the Pilgrims simply wanted to thank the National Football League for scheduling 2 games on the 4th Thursday of November. Frankly, I can't blame them. Friday was a good'un also. More leftover Thanksgiving food, plus hanging out with the Jahns and watching Seinfeld until my eyes literally fell out of their sockets, just like Cary Holman's eyes are going to do one of these days. You can say that's mean, but admit it, you laughed a little inside. I think today (Saturday, November 24, 2007) is going well too, and by that I mean I have done absolutely nothing. Also... List of Songs I Need to Download Purchase Because I Would Never Ever Illegally Download Music: -that one song by Mew, the title of which escapes me -"All the Things She Said" by T.A.T.U. (yes, a guilty pleasure song) List to be continued.... | | |
| Thanksgiving Break Itinerary:
Wednesday: Dental appointment, followed by no less than 6 hours of video games, sleep, or some combination thereof. Thursday: Consumption of ungodly amounts of turkey, rolls, stuffing, et cetera. Watching football until a euphoric, tryptophan-induced coma sets in. Doing homework once said coma subsides. Quitting homework after 15 minutes, when I remember there's a night football game on. Friday: Video games, nap, homework (probably in that order); [insert random activity?] Saturday: Repeat of Friday, sans nap because I intend to sleep until at least noon; [random activity?] Sunday: Church, rest, homework, 3-4 hours of crying over the fact that class starts Monday.

| I'm gonna start updating this again.
Maybe.

| Well, it's been another million or so years since I've updated; I really feel like the "wow Xanga is awesome!" portion of my life is winding to a close. I'll still keep my blog though, so I can update every so often and see what mis amigos are up to. I'd have to say summer has been pretty good so far--it has definitely been superior to the previous two summers, each of which lasted for approximately eternity. I've worked far more than any other summer, but I've also been able to hang out with good friends more than before, so I'm rather satisfied. I've also managed to get a bit of reading done. I recently bought Now I Can Die in Peace, a book (a baseball-related book) by ESPN.com columnist Bill Simmons, which I intend to start soon and fully expect to enjoy. Additionally, I'm trying to get back into Walk On: The Spiritual Journey of U2, which I foolishly started right before the onslaught of final exams. As far as music goes, I bought the newest Anberlin CD, Cities, and so far I think I'm liking it quite a bit. I've also found my new musical love in The Smiths, a mid-80's-era group. They are probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I absolutely love what I've heard from them, so check them out if you have the means. I guess that pretty well sums it up. I can't say I'm 100% satisfied right now--there are certain things I wish were happening that aren't--but all in all I can't really complain too much. Life is pretty darn good. Later skaters! | | |
